Start with the paperwork.
Look for the treatment plant’s make, exact model and installation or service record. Its manual may identify the air pump and required duty: how much air must be supplied, and at what operating pressure.
Look for an accessible label.
If visible from a safe position, note the pump’s manufacturer and complete model name. A different cover or similar model number is not enough to confirm a match.
Keep the installation details together.
The plant model, pump label and existing service information give a competent service person a useful starting point. A reviewer still needs to check delivered airflow at operating pressure, connections, electrical supply and available space. Neither a nominal flow rating nor a similar model name proves compatibility.
Do not open the treatment tank, remove covers or disturb a working installation to identify it. If the details are not safely accessible, ask your service person.
