In an aerated treatment plant, aerobic bacteria do much of the work of breaking down waste. They need oxygen, and an air pump helps supply it by sending air into the wastewater.
We’re here to help you choose that air pump (often called a blower or compressor). The separate pump shown here is one common arrangement; aeration works alongside the plant’s other treatment processes.
The pump sends air through the airline to a submerged diffuser, which releases bubbles. Oxygen transfers from those bubbles into the wastewater to support aerobic treatment. Not every treatment system uses this arrangement.
